James W. Blackman was a senior staff attorney and managing attorney for Legal Services in New Orleans from 1969 - 1982 when he relocated to California.  He then served as legal counsel for the Economic Opportunity Council of San Francisco until 1985 when he began a general practice specializing in bankruptcy and family law.  He has specialized in family law since 1991.
